The video in question is an interview with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords recorded “a few weeks before the congresswoman was shot in a Tucson, Ariz., rampage.” In it, she talks about her love for the iPad.
Considering The Daily is the first “iPad only” newspaper, and the story’s complete lack of actual news (the closest it comes is a new tweet from Gifford’s husband — there isn’t even a fresh quote from her doctor), I can’t help but think that the reason this video and article exist is to take advantage of sympathy for Giffords in order to tout how great the iPad is. Had tragedy not struck, I’m sure the video would have been packaged as more blatant boosterism. See? Even politicians love the iPad, and we’re the only paper devoted to the format! After all, that’s the only reason this “touching interview” exists.
