Is the Italian beef an “obscure sandwich”? Calling it “the most famous Chicago sandwich that no one outside the Midwest has ever heard of” might be a bit of an exaggeration at this point, but Kate Dulin’s paean to a sweet wet from Johnnie’s on A Continuous Lean is worth a read.
